As enterprise data protection environments grow in scale and complexity, traditional rule-based management approaches are no longer sufficient to ensure optimal performance, resilience, and operational efficiency. The emergence of agentic AI – human-controlled, autonomous, goal-driven AI systems capable of reasoning, planning, and adaptive execution – introduces a transformative model for managing backup and recovery infrastructures. In this session, you can explore some of the experimental agentic AI capabilities in IBM Storage Protect to enhance manageability, operational intelligence, and cyber-resilience. It includes demos of intelligent agents that can diagnose issues, optimize configurations, predict failures, and orchestrate remediation workflows. We will also examine multi-agent collaboration for health monitoring, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and automated remediation. We present design considerations, trust and governance implications, and performance trade-offs associated with deploying agentic AI in mission-critical data protection environments.
